jpedigree is not a medical device
jpedigree is a drawing and documentation tool. It is not a diagnostic device, it does not interpret genetic results, and it does not tell you what a family’s inheritance pattern is.
Specifically: the software never infers a mode of inheritance. You select the pattern from your own clinical assessment, and the recurrence figures it produces are the arithmetic that follows from your selection and the relationships you have drawn. If the pattern you select is wrong, the figures will be wrong, and the software has no way to know.
Every clinical decision, and every figure communicated to a patient or family, remains the responsibility of the qualified clinician making it.
Early release
jpedigree is in early release. Access is granted per account rather than sold in tiers. Features may change, and storage limits may be adjusted. We will give reasonable notice before any change that would remove access to work you have stored.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity under your account. Do not share an account between people — a pedigree’s edit history is only meaningful if an account is one person.
Your content
You keep all rights in the pedigrees, reports and templates you create. You grant us only the permission needed to store them, display them back to you, and generate the exports you ask for.
You are responsible for having a lawful basis to record the information you enter, and for complying with your own service’s information governance policy.
Acceptable use
Do not use jpedigree to store information you have no lawful basis to hold, attempt to access another account’s data, or probe the service’s security without written permission.
Availability and liability
The service is provided as is, without warranty of uninterrupted availability. Keep your own copies of anything clinically important — the export functions exist for this.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for clinical decisions made using the software, nor for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Termination
You may stop using the service and request deletion at any time. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms.
Governing law
To be completed on legal review.
